The MUMMY Dinosaur.... Yes I said MUMMY

Okay so I love love love the Fall and Halloween so this is like my post to pay tribute to my Fav time of year. I also love the weird and abnormal (see I'm different) and in another life I would have devoted my life to Cryptozoology, which just so you know is the study of the weird and wild, Love it. I like to learn about the Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti, or Strange disappearences, Apparitions. Yeah I know you think its morbid but I say I just don't have a false sense of reality. Don't get me wrong I love fairytales but they are a load of crap they don't exist and to quote like one of my fave books/movies "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." See life is pain not some happy land where things work out and everyone is Happily Ever After- Doesn't exist..... Anyways, back on the subject Josh is a big fan of the cryptozoology too this has made us good friends. So he tells me when you know something shows up in the news and vice versa but I am a little mad at him for not telling me about the MUMMIFIED DINOSAUR that is a BIG deal and he didn't tell me about it till the other day RUDE. Even more why wasn't it in the news and why didn't I hear about it..... Frustrating but moving on is that not really niffty that there is a Mummified Dinosaur his name is Dakota because he was discovered in 1999 by a 16 year old fossil hunter, let me just say that is one pro fossil hunter, in North Dakota and Dakota is a Hardrosaur. So they did a CT Scan and this is what they found:

  • The Hadrosaur's backside appears to be approximately 25 percent larger than previously thought; a surprising conclusion that could change our image of the dinosaur for the last 150 years. (So we as Humans don't know everything true fact)

  • The Hadrosaur's backside is some 25 percent bigger than originally thought, enabling it to reach speeds of 28 mph - 10 mph faster than T. rex. ( T.Rex is slow that is what that says)
  • The skin envelope also shows evidence that the Hadrosaur may have been striped and not block coloured, producing an almost striped camouflage pattern on some parts of the dinosaur. (That is a defense mechanism in the world of animals, to hide)
You can read more about this, I suggest you do it's of great importance, at http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/12/071203103349.htm
And Here is a Picture of Dakota

This image comes from the website above just so you know

I told you this was pretty niffty I would write more and more about it but then my blog would be super duper long and no one would read it except my mom, who said to me "is the Dinosaur Mummy big", well duh mom of course it is. She makes me laugh is the Dinosaur big come on mom. Well okay for her sake there are small ones but when you think Dinosaur you think big.

Anyways, My Bro Josh, the artist and he is amazing, has drawn a picture to commemorate the Mummy Dinosaur but sadly he is slow and has not given it to me so I will have to post it another time. (Update he gave it to me so it is posted on the bottom and that is what I imagine see he is dancing). So now instead of having nightmares about real mummies you can have even scarier nightmares about Mummy Dinosaurs. Although eveytime I try to imagine it I kind of giggle because my Mummy Dinosaur is not all that mean and he likes to eat all his vegtables, they do eat I promise, oh and he likes to "dance and sing". Y ou might not get that but Josh will.
